# Scanning Products

> Check if a product is covered by your benefit before you buy.

Not sure if your benefit pays for a product? You can check before you buy it.

The **Check Product** tab appears in the bottom menu when your program has this feature enabled.

  <Step title="Open Check Product">
    Tap **Check Product** in the bottom menu of your wallet.

  <Step title="Launch the scanner">
    Tap **Launch Barcode Scanner**. Your phone's browser will ask for camera permission — tap Allow. Then point your camera at the barcode on the product.

    <Note>
      There is no in-app Allow Camera button. If you previously denied camera permission, go to your device settings and enable camera access for your browser. The app will show: "Please enable camera permissions in your device settings to scan the barcode."

  <Step title="Check the result">
    The app will tell you if the product is **covered** (your benefit pays for it) or **not covered** (you would need to pay for it yourself).
